The Western Federal Blues Representing the common civil war soldier
October 1, 2008
Introduction to the Western Federal Blues
Gentlemen:
There has been much talk about the forming of a new organization for like-minded reenactors. Here and now the announcement is being made that The Western Federal Blues is a reality.
We have been watching reenactors scattering in various directions because of dissatisfaction with the existing course, politics, and a lack of leadership . The time is now to bring ourselves back together as a cohesive, functioning group that is centered where we all live and where we want to reenact. This will be a group with our own leadership where the men in the ranks can again be proud to be Western Federal Soldiers.
To succeed, we need the participation of all like-minded reenactors and messes in our region to pull together and make it work. We are taking steps to establish an organization that will be on an equal par with other established Federal organizations in the reenacting community.
The Western Federal Blues, or W.F.B., is an organization committed to honoring our ancestors, supporting preservation efforts, and providing those who participate with us a unique and authentic experience. We are not asking that you leave whatever organization that you currently belong to - only that you consider making the W.F.B. your home also.
Included within is the information that will describe the Western Federal Blues and our goals. Please read through them. Hopefully they will meet your expectations. Your responses and input are most welcome and desired.
Our endeavor is to do honor and justice to the memory of the men who made up the Western Federal Army. Hopefully, you will fall in with the W.F.B. and enjoy continued success for many years to come.
Most Respectfully,
Your Obedient Servant,
Chad Greene
